Time zones, Time zones, Time zones,....... Having lived in a country which follows a single unified (albeit stretchable) time standard countries with multiple time zones seriously confuse me (Ze Panda is confused by a lot of things, and well adding more to ze confusion doesn’t help his mental condition), and to add to the confusion ppl have DST and u always have to take care of when DST gets activated, sad. Now I know if u have a country which passes 2 one thru many meridians, keeping a common time zone is tough, but at least advertise which time zone which city follows… Me have been calling universities in the United States and Canada to confirm that theyv recvd my nice little packages, specially since they don’t have online status checks (not only ze small ones but even the big ones like Princeton, Yale & UToronto) don’t and frankly its too stretchy and confusing for a panda… I called up UToronto a few minutes back and they were open and running, while Calgary and Edmonton r still closed becoz its still something like 7:50 over there, sad I say sad… To add to the confusion u have DST coming on and off seemingly arbitrarily (at least arbitrarily enuf fer me). I know good ol’ Benjamin Franklin came up with ze DST thinge long back to save candle fuel but is it all that important nemore, since no matter when night starts, cities r always lighted… Besides getting what time zone what city is in, is immensely hard (that is unless I start tweaking MacOSXs time settings which simplify it to an unbelievable extent) since my diary gives me time zones such as Newfoundland, Atlantic, Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Yukon Whitehorse, Watson Lake & Dawson City; without telling me their extents or which city follows which of these damn time zones… Now while me knows that these stupid time zones r of utmost importance to a large part of the human race, in keeping up with personalization and ease of use stuff someone shud come up with a Panda friendly system of deciphering where and when shud me call up to be able to talk to a human (neh not a chimp, and well pandas r 2 rare) whose atleast partially sane (finding completely sane ones in zis world is hard) and is able to answer me questions… They shud at ze very least put up an online notice which says when they r and r not available, or they could start listing both local and UTC times for when their offices open, though I doubt most countries wud agree to zat, at least Russia wudnt since even its subs run on Moscow time instead of Zulu (UTC’s military nickname). Swatch Beats wudnt work since me not have a watch gives me time in Swatch Beats, and well making a new international time standard is 2 damn hard, & pandas r awfully underrepresented at bodies like the United Nations (hell even chimps have more representation than us pandas, just look thru the African countries chairs, u’ll locate quite a few chimps, and well even some Asian countries prefer sending chimps and gorillas, probably becoz they r so damn undiplomatic) so I doubt neone will raise this issue at ne of these meets netime soon….............

I finished watching Captain Corelli’s Mandolin and well me says its a beautiful movie, and considering zat the Germans really did kill all those Italians in that beautiful island, & that the poor guys got freedom only to be ravaged by an earthquake really makes it a very sad movie… Unfortunately I really loved the music the Captain played thru out the movie and well I am trying to download it using Poisoned, without much success…. I doubt CDs wud be avl newhere in the market (specially since I can’t even get No Angel newhere) and me am sad abt zis… Earlier this year I had watched The Tailor of Panama and had loved the sad song, the fat guy (the war hero, revolutionary guy) sings in the movie but unfortunately i cudnt find CDs for zis or download using Poisoned either… Ne help on this front wud be much appreciated….......

Me was just talking to some admission officer at UCalgary and considering that this university is smaller than most I have applied to, I must commend them on their excellent service, and on their friendly mannerism.. While I ain’t sure of joining zis place, it sure as hell rates verrryyy high on my Panda freindliness index…..

Amnesty International has lowered Myanmar’s (Burma’s) human right index again, saying that detentions and human right abuses have increased over the past year… The US had raised terror warning levels to the second highest possible… Libya has joined the war against terror… Some guy in India, an engineer, was killed becoz ppl in India’s PMO refused to read his confidentiality statement and passed it thru 8 whole officers… The world is going crazy, new alliances r being formed, old ones r being broken, ppl r killing each other, Ze Panda really doesn’t understand what ze world’s come to… It seems like an awfully sad thing, since immense amts of posturing seem to be taking place the world over and it seems like a war is coming… Me college decisions r probably also affected by zis posturing, so Ze Panda is very very very unhapppy abt zis. ZE PANDA WANTS TO GET INTO A COLLLLLEEEEGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEE….......

PS: Seems there was no quiz at school today, its gonna be held tomorrow sometime…...
