Y do so many humans and chimps want to avoid stating ze obvious, y do ppl hold zis stupid belief that just becoz they didn’t put a name into ze senders field and at ze bottom of their emails, receivers can’t figure out who sent it, and y do zese very humans and chimps love stating ze obvious also, hell if u sent zem an e-mail to an address u obviously got of zeir site, y wud u wanna visit and check it up again, since u already checked it out b4 sending ze question, huh????????????????????? Y do ppl with email addresses like latha.murali_at_somedomain.sometld imagine zat ppl don’t know who’s sending zem a particular mail, ahem ze email address obviously belongs to a Latha Murali so y avoid sending ur name…....... Oh and zese ppl usually also attach a nice thingee abt how if u rnt ze intended recipient u shudnt read ze mail and destroy it b4 u read….... Duh if zis is ze last line of a page long e-mail, I doubt neone wud get to zis line b4 reading all of ze mails contents and by then most of ze damn statement wudnt hold true now wud it???????????? Then these officialese speaking ppl also mention zat zey trust zat u find ze information useful, umm considering zat u respond after two whole weeks what am I supposed to do if I don’t find the info useful, ‘coz I doubt ud even remember who I was, let alone what I had asked by ze time u get on to answering my reply to ur reply…............ All zis officialese which chimps have created and handed over to zeir underpaid e-mail rehsuses is ze sole reason y me gets such stupid emails from places like ze Canadian High Comission, and zese ppl then shamelessly claim on their site zat zey provide unending goood service to humans…............. Hmm chimp and zeir silly modes of comm…......

My friend finally took a big step forward and installed Fedora (RH’s free linux project in case u didn’t know), while I wudnt agree with all of his statements or all of his scare ratings (the steps rnt all zat scary), I guess zat is an objective account from a human, though since me am a panda and practically incapable of giving objective commentary I’ll give u my take on his situation (umm sorry if u hate zis, and pls God don’t make me loooooooooooooos ne friends over zis, me am after all just giving a pandaish viewpoint)......

1. U don’t really need Partition Magic, ze freely supplied fips is pretty good and way lighter than PM, though fips is text based and takes a little bit of getting used to, its wayyyyyy faster than PM and offers tons of options which PM doesn’t even tell u existed
2. Haven’t tried Fedora on VPC, so I wudnt know abt zis, but my guess is it shud be pretty useable on ze faster systems, specially ze dual procs
3. It does warn u abt destroying ur comp if u choose nething other than Custom, and unlike Windoze it doesn’t give u a ticking time bomb (win 98 and 2k i know for sure give messages which say click OK to continue otherwise setup will automatically continue at ze end of n seconds), so it aint that scary though u do need information, information is ze key to everything in linux
4. When me had installed linux for ze fast time me was not an expert (u usually rnt when u do things for ze first time), in fact I was a baby panda with a computer, a free partition and some crazy ideas at hand, so believe me text install is much easier, and way more elegant and faster than it sounds
5. Disk Druid warns abt stuff ‘coz humans tend to use it, and humans unlike druids r less than perfect
6. Picking packages, be good at it, or dont go near a computer
7. The problem with rebooting if u press ok too early is just one of the many problems which the relatively new Anaconda graphical installer, unlike ze older more tested text installer, does have, and is one good reason y u shud use Text Install instead of grafix….

Whatever I have mentioned here is in no way a defense against ze obvious UI issues in Linux, just zat I don’t completely agree with ppls assessment of how hard installing Linux is, mostly becoz when I started out it was tooooooooooooooo long ago, and umm I was more naive, less paranoid, and well I was after a good time (which I did get, linux was one heck of an OS, and I installed it with Win NT which had issues with Lilo, which is y u had to let NTLDR be in ze boot sector and then add a reference to linux in it, no easy task me assures u)...........

Well I have been grudgingly accepted by UCalgary, which has (atleast ze email claims) managed to send me a rejection slip, only to get a sudden brain wave zat maybe zey r looking at ze wrong marks, and then on reval determining zat I was actually thru…....... Sad, ‘coz UAlberta had a higher cut off than these guys and I am thru their, and am still gonna have a reject from them (initially atleast), though I probably shud keep it as a nice little souvenir or something….
