The specifics are still being worked out, but prior to mid-2007 this was a personal blog for Aurojit Panda, and is supposed to move to being more of an idea dump. I doubt this is what would happen, so I have no idea about what this is going to be like. The hope was that I'd cover things I liked about papers, books, random ideas which pop into my head and such, though this seems unlikely for various reasons involving time, though we shall see how this goes.

Aurojit Panda is currently a Brown student, concentrating in a heady mix of Math and Computer Science, and graduating in 2008. I hope to go to a Computer Science PhD program after that, probably for systems, theory or whatever catches my fancy in the next year. My primary interests currently revolve around combinatorial optimization, particularly constraint programming systems, systems research, as in the kind of thing where you create a kernel with strange additions, and theory, particularly theory relating to problems of stochasticity. My interests have varied widely over the years, and there was a time, not long ago when I was involved in machine learning research, a description of which can be found in Learning invariant features using inertial priors by Thomas Dean, and I have an ongoing interest in concurrency, and PL, though outside of reading research papers, have no formal training in them. I will however be taking a PL course later this year. Outside of school, I have worked for Bloomberg LP in New York, New York, and for Electronic Arts at their Redwood Shores Studio in Redwood City, California.
